Brown has starred in over a hundred films and TV series, best known for her role as Ida Greenberg, an elderly neighbor, alcoholic and cat lover, in the first four seasons of the hit TV series Desperate Housewives. She subsequently had a recurring role in the soap opera General Hospital .
