Born October 1, 1975, Springfield, USA - American film director, screenwriter, actor, producer, cameraman and editor.

Graduated from Yale University, where he studied acting, and for his efforts was awarded an honors degree. Crocidas also attended classes at New York University and was a participant in the New York University's Graduate Film Program.

While studying at the institute, Crocidas began making films, his first short works won attention in professional circles. The first tape - the 12-minute comedy "Shame No More" was completed in 1999, John directed it according to his own script, and also acted as an editor and performer of one of the small roles. This picture has been a participant in more than seventy film festivals, and was also released in more than ten countries in Europe and North America. His second film premiered at the 2001 Telluride Film Festival. The short "Slo-Mo" was directed by Crocidas and his co-star Zeke Farrow. This tape received positive reviews at home, after which it went to travel the world, where it collected several awards and reached the final of the 2003 Academy Awards. The film was purchased by Sundance Channel, HBO and PBS.

After graduation, John Crocidas signed a three-year contract with Miramax Films, where he was involved in screenwriting.

In mid-January 2013, the premiere of the first full-length film by Crocidas, a biographical drama about the writers of the Beat era, Kill Your Loved Ones, took place. The screenplay for the film was written by Crocidas with Austin Bunn. It stars Daniel Radcliffe (as Allen Ginsberg) and Dane DeHaan (as Lucien Carr). Also in the film you can see Elizabeth Olsen (as Edie Parker), Michael Hall (as David Kammerer), Ben Foster (as William Burroughs) and many other actors. The film premiered at the 29th Sundance Film Festival, after which it was shown at the Toronto Festival, London, the Hamptons International Film Festival, the Palm Springs Film Festival (where it won the "directors to watch" category), as well as the Venice festival, where she also won. "Kill Your Loved Ones" was warmly received by harsh critics and viewers, and also took good positions in the viewership ratings.

In addition to working on film sets, Crocidas has teaching experience - he has taught directing to students at Yale University, universities in New York and Southern California, and the New School.
