The first film, in the creation of which Pogue participated, was the crime thriller "Servants of the Law" directed by Stuart Baird, released on wide screens in 1998. The film stars Tommy Lee Jones, Wesley Snipes and Robert Downey Jr., and John co-wrote the script with Roy Huggins. The next film in John's creative biography was the crime thriller "Skulls" by Rob Cohen, which premiered on March 27, 2000. Pogue, in addition to writing the script for the tape, also became one of its producers, premiering John in this capacity. A year later, Pogue was the executive producer of the acclaimed action movie Fast and Furious by Rob Cohen, starring Paul Walker and Vin Diesel.
