The famous Canadian actor, singer and playwright was born on July 18, 1891. Gene Lockhart made his stage debut at the age of six as a member of the Kiltes Band, and by the time he was fifteen, he was already starring in sketches with the famous actress Beatrice Lily.
Lockhart had to change schools frequently. He studied in many Canadian educational institutions, and also studied oratory for a time at the London Brompton Oratory School. In his spare time, the actor loved to play football and was part of the Toronto Argonauts team.
