September 1, 1926 - June 23, 2011 - American artist, graphic artist, and comic book creator. Known for his work for Marvel Comics and the creation of comic series such as Daredevil, the satirist Howard the Duck series, and the classic horror series The Tomb of Dracula, in one of which the superhero Blade first appeared. He also became one of the creators of Falcon, one of the first black comic book heroes. Winner of two Eagle Awards and one Eisner Award, and was inducted into the William Eisner Hall of Fame in 2005.
