Modest Mouse is an American band that performs indie rock music. 1993, Issaqua, Washington State: A group was formed by guitarist, lead vocalist Isaac Brock, young bassist Eric Judy, and drummer Jeremiah Green. Shortly after inception, work continues in Portland, Oregon. The first year of the band's existence was marked by the release of a couple of singles, as is usually the case among novice musicians. The gentle It Always Rains on a Picnic, the blatant anthem of Dukes Up, immediately captured the hearts of indie rock fans. Only in 1996 was their debut album, This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About, released. It had, as the musicians say, a symbolic name. After listening to Modest Mouse online, romantic tunes similar to magic sounds penetrate into the soul, and whimsical intriguing motives make you listen again and again. Interestingly, for Isaac, the lyrics were the main component in the music, thus the musical arrangement faded into the background. However, thanks to the rest of the members, the music has always been done in the best possible way. After the first, two more albums followed: 1996 - Interstate 8, 1997 - The Fruit Thet Ate Itself. However, at the end of the 20th century, Modest Mouse's music took on a slightly different character. Romantic motives give way to stories of unemployed people, losers, shattered dreams, and the music changes to folk rock, accompanied by violin, country rock, pop, and sometimes even blues. The group releases the next work after three years of difficult work. It was in 2000 that the disc Moon & Antarctica was released, which many consider the best in the discography of the collective. The disc is saturated with acoustic parts, and interesting progressive arrangements by 3rd Planet open echoes of psychodrama and some notes of suicidal lyrics. 2004 saw a new creation - a record called Good News for People Who Love bad News. The musicians say that in their humble opinion this is the best work in the history of the group. Interestingly, the album sold out very quickly. 300 thousand copies were sold out by real music connoisseurs. For how many years Modest Mouse delighted fans with quality work and soon proved that they can still make decent music. So in 2007, fans of indie rock with rapid breathing were waiting for the release of the new compilation We were Dead before the Ship even Sank, and it fully met the expectations. Until today, the group has been working tirelessly in the musical field.
