Born in Moscow on February 27, 1921 in Moscow.
In 1939 he entered the art faculty of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography, in the workshop of I.P. Ivanov-Vano.
In 1943 he graduated from the art faculty of VGIK. In the same year, he began working at the Soyuzmultfilm studio as an animation artist and co-director. Since 1953 - independent director's work. Participated in the production of animated films.
In 1960 he was dismissed from the studio and was engaged in book and magazine graphics.
He died on January 1, 2004, and was buried at the Miusskoye cemetery in Moscow.
