Dziga Vertov or as he is known in narrow circles under the name of Denis Arkadyevich Kaufman is a bright star in the cinematic firmament. Born in frosty January 1896. His parents are very respected librarians, besides Denis, there were two more sons - Boris and Misha. All three have achieved tremendous success in the film world. His first abilities showed up when the boy was studying at a music school. After the Kaufman family moved to Moscow, in 1915 the young man meets the futurists. Thanks to these connections, the fictitious pseudonym Dziga Vertov was born.

A significant contribution to the film industry is the work on Film Weeks, this Soviet project from 1918 to 1919 revealed the events of the raging Civil War. This was the first movie with Dziga Vertov. But Kinonedelya was withdrawn from viewing, after which he and his partner-cameraman went to the front to shoot directly in the epicenter of events. 1920 was an important year for Vertov. Together with friends, he creates a group called Kinoglazovtsy. And already with his own film crew, he starts working on the magazine "Kino-Pravda". The conditions in which the film-glazers worked were terrible, but they did not stop working on the number. This was followed by the release of films called Kino-Eye, these series of films were united by one idea.

Later such films with the participation of Dziga Vertov were released on television: Eleventh (1928), was dedicated to industrialization; The Man with a Movie Camera (1929), the film was based on a demonstration of all the capabilities of a man in whose hands was a movie camera; Enthusiasm (1930), opened the whole world to the Ukrainian beauty and power of Donbass. The great documentary filmmaker put his soul into his projects, so critics admired his creations. Death took this gifted man on February 12, 1954. But thanks to his work, a new direction arose in documentary cinema.
