From 1922 he worked as an operator. Until 1925 he filmed material for the periodical film magazine "Kinonedelya" and the film collection "Kinopravda".
In the following years, as a director-operator, he created documentaries showing the life of the country.
From 1941 he worked as a director of the Moscow Film Studio of Popular Science Films.
