Born May 27, 1964, Seoul, South Korea - South Korean film director and screenwriter. One of the leading contemporary filmmakers in Korea.

Before making his first film, Silent Family (1998), Kim worked for a long time as an actor and director in the theater. He wrote the script himself (as in the following works), after which "Silent Family" won the prize for best film at the Fantasporto festival in Portugal. The next significant work in his career as a director was the thriller "The Story of Two Sisters" (2003), which won numerous awards in Korea and at film festivals.
