Born November 3, 1969 in Los Angeles, California (USA) - American-Korean actor, director, screenwriter and producer.
During his creative career, he worked on fiction and documentary films for over 15 years and continues to develop in this area to this day. The first film in which he showed all possible cinematic talents was released in 1998. The thriller "Miss Monday" was created by Benson from his own script, he also took part as a performer and producer. The debut work was included in the competition program of the Sundance Film Festival and received the Special Jury Prize for the best actor.
In 2002, Lee worked as a co-producer on "Black Picked Fance," directed by Sergio Goes. And 6 years later (in 2008) Benson offers viewers his new film - the documentary "Planet of the B-Boy", which tells about the history, culture and the vast concept of the world of B-Boy art. The film proved to be one of the most successful grossing documentaries of 2008 in America. The rental of the tape has spread far beyond America, it has been seen by viewers in more than 30 countries of the world.
In 2011, Benson Lee began adapting B-Boy Planet into a 3D movie version for Sony Pictures. The film is titled "Kings of the Dance Floor" ("Battle of The Year"), which premiered on September 20, 2013. Starring Josh Halloway, Las Alonso, Josh Peck and Katie Lotz.
The director is currently working on the creation of a documentary film "One Korea 3D", which tells about a concert for peace, like "Live Aid" (funds from which went to help victims of famine in Ethiopia), which will be held in the fall day of 2014 at the same time in South and North Korea. Another project that has begun is called Seoul Searching, a comedy about teenagers from the 80s who go to summer camp in Seoul to learn what it is like to be real Koreans. And so the best intentions grow into the most unforgettable adventures. These films are scheduled to premiere in 2015.
