Was born on October 3, 1949 in Leningrad.
In 1972 he graduated from the Faculty of History of Leningrad State University. Studied at the art and graphic faculty of the Leningrad Pedagogical Institute. Herzen. He worked as an artist at the Leningrad television, as a decorator at the Lenfilm film studio. In 1981 he graduated from the directing department of VGIK (workshop of S. Gerasimov). Since 1981 - stage director of the Lenfilm film studio.
