Film director, producer, playwright, screenwriter, actor.
Studied at the Faculty of Journalism of Leningrad University (1957-1960), graduated from the directing department of the Leningrad Institute of Culture named after N.K. Krupskaya (1972).
In 1960-1964 - assistant director, assistant director at the Belarusfilm film studio.
Since 1966 he has been working at the Lenfilm film studio.
Since 1982 he has been a stage director.
1983 - 85 - Director of TV Films TO / s "Lenfilm".
From 1997 to 2002 - director of the Lenfilm film studio .
Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (1997).
Member of the European Film Academy (1999) .
Viktor Sergeev died in a Moscow hospital at the age of 69 after a serious and prolonged illness. He was buried on November 22, 2006 at the cemetery in the village of Komarovo near St. Petersburg.
