Born on October 12, 1938 in Yerevan.
Armenian Soviet director, screenwriter and actor.
Honored Artist of the Armenian SSR (1987) .
Before studying at the institute, he played at the Yerevan Academic Theater named after G. Sundukyan.
In 1953 he graduated from the directing department of the Yerevan Fine Arts and Theater Institute and since then worked for the "Armenfilm" film studio.
Since 1959 - assistant director, then - director of the "Armenfilm" studio (in 1966-1967 - the "Mosfilm" studio).
In 1966-67 he was a trainee director on the film "Your Contemporary" by Yuliy Raizman.
He starred as an actor in many films.
