Born September 1, 1961 in Choisy-le-Roi, a suburb of Paris - French novelist and screenwriter.
Born into a family of Italian immigrants. Since childhood, he began to get involved in literature and cinema. He worked as a night watchman in a museum, a conductor of the Paris-Rome train, and a decorator. He drew inspiration from his work for his future novels. He published his first novel at the age of 24. Subsequent works were awarded several literary prizes. The most successful was his novel "Saga" (1997), for which Benaquista was named author of the year by readers of Elle magazine. He began writing scripts for television series back in the late 1980s, but Benaquista's real success as a screenwriter came in 2002, when he, together with Jacques Audiar, received the Cesar Prize for the script for the film Read Your Lips.
