Jacques Audiar - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips.
Born April 30, 1952 in the family of the famous screenwriter and director Michel Audiar. Despite this, he was preparing to become a teacher, but dropped out of his second year for cinema. He worked as an editor. In the early 1980s, he tried his hand at scripting. He wrote scripts for films such as The Professional / Le professionnel / (starring Belmondo), The Elusive Bob / Reveillon chez Bob /, Death Walk / Mortelle randonnee /, Baxter / Baxter /, Frequence meurtre /. In 1994, Jacques shoots his first film - See how people fall / Regarde les hommes tomber / (1994). A gloomy road movie about the relationship of completely different people (Mathieu Kassowitz and Jean-Louis Trintignant) brought the director the prestigious Cesar Award for Best Debut and the Georges Sadoul Award. Two years later, he makes again with Mathieu Kassovitz his second film, "A Very Modest Hero" / Un heros tres discret /, based on the novel of the same name by Jean-Francois Deniau /. In the next project, Audiar again called Mathieu Kassowitz for the main role. His second film, "Un heros tres discret" (Un heros tres discret), Jacques shot based on the novel of the same name by Jean-Francois Denot. This is the story of a guy who falsified his participation in the French Resistance and becomes a national hero. He considers himself only an artisan in the field of cinema, and therefore it is a full five years before he directs his third film "Read the lips" (2001), a love story set against the backdrop of a cruel detective, starring Emmanuelle Deveaux and Vincent Cassel. This third film, based on the novel by Tonino Benaquista, earned him 9 Cesars awards, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor (Vincent Cassel) and Best Actress (Emmanuelle Devaux). Benaquista is also a poet of losers, only he treats them much more tenderly than Audiar, and even gives them the right to a miracle. "Read lips" is the story of two exemplary "losers" for whom nothing shines in life. She is a secretary with a minimum of external data, but she is deaf. She knows how to read lips, but she has nothing to read, except for the grease released by her colleagues in the office until a boy who has just been released from prison is hired by the office.
