Obba Babatunde (born December 4, 1950) is an American film actor.

Babatunde has appeared in over seventeen productions, thirty theatrical films, sixty made-for-television films, and two premiere time series.

Some of his feature film performances include: Celestine Prophecies, The Girl's Material, After Sunset, The Manchu Candidate, The Notebook, John Q, Philadelphia, The Last Fall, If I Tell You I'll Kill You, The Fallen Faithful, Trapped , Tension and kinky.

He also played Harvard College Dean Kane in How High, as well as Willie Long in Life, Role Lamar, Hotel Concierge in What You Do, Co-star as a lawyer in Philadelphia, as SWAT captain in John Q as Senator in the 2004 reprise of the Manchu nominee, and at Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment Santa Paws 2: Santa Pups he played Mayor Denny.

Babatunde has finished filming three primetime episodes: CBS 'Madam Secretary of State, Showtime's I'm Dying Up Here, Netflix Dear White People.

Babatunde also directed a version of the Broadway musical Dreamgirls and was co-written, directed and produced by Blink of an Eye.

Some of his recorded works include the singing of the title track on Allan Gumbs' Onaje album A Bag Full of Dreams and Galskom that went down on the Harold Arlen Over The Rainbow soundtrack.

In 2016, Babatunde received an Emmy Daytime award for Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series, as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Peach International Festival Village.

In 2010 Babatunde won the "Best Male" Lead NAACP Theater Awards for his role as Sammy Davis, Jr.in the Globe musical Sammy production.

Babatunde was nominated for an Emmy in the HBO film Miss Evers Kids, An NAACP Image Award for the HBO film Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, an Ovation Award and a Tony Award for his role as CC White, in the original Broadway cast of Dreamgirls. He won the NAACP Image Award for Best Actor for his role in Sarge's Soldier's Play.
