Oleg Khromenkov began as a teacher of drawing, history and zoology at the Bakhovsky secondary school. In 1952 he entered VGIK, in the workshop of Yuli Yakovlevich Raizman, graduating from which in 1957, he was enrolled in the staff of the Lenfilm film studio .
Khromenkov began acting in his second year, appearing in an episode of Sergei Gerasimov's film "Hope" .
The actor was buried at the Southern Cemetery of Leningrad.
