Carlos Cuaron was born in Mexico City and studied English literature at NAU. He wrote the screenplay for Solo con vt Parej in 1991, which was directed by his brother, Alfonso and won the Ariel Prize for Best Original Screenplay that same year. Together with his brother, he wrote the screenplay for the film And Your Mother Too (starring Gael Garcia Bernal, Diego Luna and Maribel Verdu) and won the Silver Lion for Best Original Screenplay at the 2001 Venice International Film Festival. They were nominated for BAFTA awards as well as an Academy Award in the same category. In December 2008, Rudo and Kursi (Rud and Corny) their first film as a director was released. He also stars Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal.
