Was born in 1944 in Buenos Aires (Argentina). He began his career in cinema in 1970 as a cameraman. In 1986 he directed one of his first full-length films, La pelicula del rey (Spanish: La pelicula del rey), which was highly acclaimed by film critics: 8 prestigious film awards, including the Silver Condor for Best Debut and Original Screenplay.
The film Short Stories (Spanish Historias minimas, 2002) was extremely successful, winning 22 awards at 12 festivals, the most prestigious of which are 8 Silver Condors and 3 prizes at the San Sebastian Film Festival.
