Born on December 3, 1903 in the city of Shusha (Nagorno-Karabakh). Armenian Soviet actor, director, translator, playwright and teacher. People's Artist of the Armenian SSR (1950). Studied at the Armenian Drama Studio at the House of Armenian Art (artistic director Arkady Burjalyan). Since 1924 - actor at the 1st State Theater of Armenia in Yerevan (now the Academic Theater named after G. Sundukyan). He was engaged in directing, taught at the Yerevan Art and Theater Institute, led workshops in directing and acting. In the cinema - since 1934. He died on March 23, 1956 in Yerevan.
