Vasily Bokarev was born on April 10, 1904 in Moscow, in a family of workers. His father worked as a salesman in the trading company of S. V. Perlov, and his mother was mainly a housewife. Vasily grew up as a well-mannered and neat boy, studied at a city school, but on the instructions of his father, he moved to the Alekseev trading school. After that he continued his studies at the school, specializing in “accountant”. In 1921, after completing his studies, he went to work in the office of the Moscow City Council, then in Gosstrakh. In 1926 Vasily entered the State Institute of Cinematography.
