Born on March 24 (April 6, old style) in 1904 in the city of Ostrov, Pskov province. He died on May 12, 1978 in Leningrad. Soviet theater and film actor. All viewers know him primarily from the fairy tale "Cinderella", where Vasily Vasilyevich played Cinderella's father. Vasily Vasilyevich Merkuriev was married to Irina Vsevolodovna Meyerhold (1905 - 1981). Daughters of the famous theater director Vsevolod Meyerhold. At one time, the actor raised eight children: three relatives, three orphan nephews and two adopted children who lagged behind their family during the evacuation (later returned to their mother). He was a great actor and a wonderful person.
