Born December 29, 1950 in Philadelphia.
John Polito attended Villanova University. He began his acting career in 1977 on Broadway, came to the cinema in 1981.
He made his debut role as Captain Spaulding in 2003 in the film Das Haus der Leichen 1000. For his success, he is grateful to his mentor Dominic Gervey, the only active teacher Irena Byrd and the great director and friend Paulo Bettis.
In films and television series, he plays mainly police officers or criminals. He starred in the first two seasons of The Slaughter Department and was fired for disagreements with producer Tom Fontana. Best known for 5 films by the Coen brothers. John Polito is openly gay.
