Soviet theater and film actor Georgy Epifantsev was born on May 31, 1939 on the territory of the Crimean Peninsula in the small village of Kamysh-Burun. The actor received his higher education in 1960, at the Moscow Art Theater, at the Moscow Art Theater School. Georgy studied with the Soviet actor and teacher Pavel Vladimirovich Massalsky.
For seven years, starting in 1959, viewers had the opportunity to watch Georgy Epifantsev during the performances of the Moscow Art Drama Theater. In 1966, the actor transferred to the Moscow Drama and Comedy Theater on Taganka. However, Epifantsev did not manage to leave the Moscow Art Theater team for a long time. When the decision to finally leave the theater was nevertheless made, Epifantsev began to tour with his solo performance, the main theme of which was the millennium of the baptism of Rus.
Films with Georgy Epifantsev first appeared on screens in the late 1950s. 1959 was marked by the first serious work of the actor in the film Foma Gordeev. The next role that brought fame to Epifantsev was the character of Prokhor Gromov in the television series Gloom River. The last work of the actor was his role in the tragicomedy This is me - a fool, which was released in 1991. Georgy Epifantsev passed away unexpectedly and tragically.
