Dervla Kirwan is an Irish theater and film actress, best known for her participation in the film Ondine and the TV series Doctor Who, Casanova, Father Ted.
Dervla Kirwan was born on October 24, 1971 in Dublin, Ireland. Her father, Peter Kirvan, was an insurance broker, and her mother, Maureen, was a foreign language teacher. Dervla is the youngest of three daughters in the family. In addition, Kirwan is the great-granddaughter of Margaret Collins-O'Driscoll, who was the sister of Michael Collins, one of the prominent leaders during the Irish War of Independence.
