Honored Artist of the Moldavian SSR (1962);
People's Artist of the Russian Federation (1994) .
Graduated from the camera department of VGIK (1957, workshop of B. Volchek) .
He worked as an operator at the Moldova-film cinema, directed the films "Ataman Codr" (1958, first prize "For the visual solution of the film" at the All-Union Film Festival in Kiev-59), "Lullaby" (1960), "A man follows the sun" (1961) and others. Since 1963 - director-producer of the film studio "Moldova-film".
Since 1969 he has been a production director at the Mosfilm film studio.
