Was the leading actor of the Odessa Ukrainian Musical and Drama Theater named after Vasil Vasilko (formerly named after the October Revolution).
For the salvation of the Jewish population during the Great Patriotic War, he was awarded the title of Righteous Among the Nations. His name is on the lists on the Wall of Honor in the Garden of the Righteous People of the World at the Yad Vashem memorial complex (Jerusalem, Israel).
