He graduated from the studio at the Odessa Workers 'and Peasants' Theater (1928).
Until 1928, working as a worker in various enterprises, he performed in amateur performances. He was an actor in theaters in Odessa, Kharkov and Kiev (1929-1963).
Since 1928 - an actor-trainee at the "Robseltheater" (Odessa, a branch of the Ukrgosdrama), since 1929 - an actor at the Ukrgosdrama theater (later - the Odessa Theater named after the October Revolution).
An actor of a wide creative range, a master of stage miniature. From 1933 he acted in films.
