Born June 19, 1966 - British actor and theater director.
The son of British actors Timothy West (b. 1934) and Prunella Scales (b. 1932), grandson of actor Lockwood West (1905-1989). Elder brother - Joseph and half-sister Juliet (father's daughter from his first marriage).
Trained at Alleyn's School, Dulwich, London. He continued his studies at Lady Margaret Hall College, Oxford University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts (in English Literature).
For many years remained an active member of the British Socialist Labor Party, strongly criticizing the policies of the Labor government of Tony Blair.
