The director's first work was the short film "The Wicked" (2001).
In 2005, Ty West shot his first feature film, The Roost.
In 2009, as a writer, producer and director, he made the web series Dead and Lonely for IFC Films, which was broadcast on the Internet. In 2010 he worked in the MPI / Dark Sky project on the horror film The Innkeepers (2011).
