Born on May 17, 1942 in the village of Korsun, Korsunsky District, Ulyanovsk Region.
In 1968 he graduated from the Moscow Theater School named after B.V. Shchukin. Since 1968 he has been an actor at the Moscow Drama and Comedy Theater on Taganka. The first role in the theater was the role of Motyakov in the play “Alive. From the life of Fyodor Kuzkin ".
Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1990). People's Artist of Russia (2004).
