He graduated from the University of North Texas and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, after which he played in the theater. His film debut was the role in the film by Richard Lester "Butch and Sundance: The Early Years." During his career, he played in more than 50 films and TV series, gaining fame as a leading role in the fantastic films "Through the Eighth Dimension" (1984) and "Robot Police" (1987) .
Host of the popular science series "How Empires Were Created" on the History Channel. Professor at the University of Syracuse, teaches in the Department of Literature and Fine Arts.
