American actor Eli Wallach was born on December 7, 1915 into a Jewish family living in the New York borough of Brooklyn. Educated at the University of Texas and then at New York City College, Wallach studied acting. In the midst of World War II, he served in a military hospital in Hawaii, and later he was transferred to France, where Officer Wallach, along with his colleagues, showed the play Is This the Army? For hospital patients, which depicted various dictators, and Eli himself played Hitler.

But no matter what the roles of Eli Wallach were diverse, and the directors did not forget about his Western heroes. The Italian director Sergio Leone invited him to his film The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, where the role of Tuco became another bright business card of Wallach.
