Viktor Tsoi is a rock legend, poet, composer, actor and artist. In June 1962, Valentina Vasilievna Guseva and Robert Maksimovich Tsoi became parents in one of the maternity hospitals in Leningrad.
Even as a child, parents began to notice the kid's ability to draw and in 1974 they sent Victor to an art school. In 1977 he became a student at the art school. During his studies at the art school, Tsoi met Max Pashkov, with whom he created the rock group "Chamber No. 6". After studying for only a year at the design department, Tsoi is expelled for academic failure. Later he graduates from SSTU No. 61.
Since 1980, Tsoi has been performing at home groups with the Automatic Satisfaction Group. In 1981, together with Oleg Valinsky and Alexei Rybin, Tsoi created a group with a rather strange name - "Garin and Hyperboloids". In the autumn of the same year, the group becomes an honorary member of the Leningrad Rock Club. Later Valinsky was drafted into the army, and the name of the group was changed, and the legendary "Kino" was born. In 1982 the group released its debut album, called "45", which is produced by the lead singer of the group "Aquarium" - Boris Grebenshchikov.
In the spring of 1983, Alexei Rybin left the group, and at this time Tsoi released his solo album "46", recorded at his home portable studio. In 1984, the second composition of "Kino" was formed, the participants of which were Viktor Tsoi, Yuri Kasparyan, Georgy "Gustav" Guryanov and Alexander Titov. Later, the place of Titov's bass player in the group is taken by Igor Tikhomirov, ex - member of the Jungle group. Immediately the new composition of "Kino" releases the album "Chief of Kamchatka". The popularity of the group, and Tsoi in particular, is growing rapidly, and "Kino" no longer performs in small venues, but gathers stadiums, while the KGB calls them a group that has a destructive effect on the ideology of the masses.
In the winter of 1985, the Russian rock star marries Marianne, in August of the same year the newlyweds have a son, Sasha. However, in 1987, the couple broke up, and Tsoi left for Moscow to Natasha Razlogova.
During this time two more studio albums of the group were released - "This is not love" (1985) and "Night" (1986).
1986 can be called the beginning of Tsoi's acting career. The greatest popularity was swept by the film with Viktor Tsoi called Needle (1988), with the release of which Tsoi becomes an idol and role model for millions of teenagers. "Kino" continues to collect stadiums throughout the Soviet Union, and albums are released one after another: "Blood Type" (1988), "A Star Called the Sun" (1989) and "The Last Hero" (1989). In 1988, Yuri Aizenshpis became the new producer of "Kino", and the "epidemic" of the group spreads to the USA and France.
In June 1990, the concert of the Kino group thundered in Luzhniki, which, alas, was the last. August 15, 1990 becomes tragic for Kino fans: returning to Jurmala in his dark blue Moskvich-2141, Viktor Tsoi, colliding with a bus, dies on the spot. According to law enforcement agencies, the musician fell asleep while driving.
"Black Album" - it was decided to name the last album of the group that way, since it was published after the tragic death of the legendary leader of "Kino".
It is worth noting that after the death of Tsoi, his popularity did not subside, but on the contrary, acquired a new round: the music of the Kino group, like films with the participation of Viktor Tsoi, remain beloved and revered to this day.
