Avant-garde artist, art theorist, teacher, founder of the New Academy of Fine Arts.
Novikov starred in the films "Rock", "Two Captains-2", "Woe from Wit". He also took part in staging several performances, ballet, Sergei Solovyov's film "ASSA", concerts of Sergei Kuryokhin's "Pop Mechanics" and Viktor Tsoi's "Kino".
From 1982 to 2000, more than 20 personal exhibitions of his works were held in Russia and abroad. In addition, his work has been shown in at least 23 collective exhibitions around the world.
Timur Novikov died on the night of May 23-24, 2002 in the hospital after a serious and prolonged illness. He was buried on May 26 at the Smolensk cemetery in St. Petersburg.
