The youngest of five children in the family of Trisha and Andrew Cox. Born in London but raised in East Sussex. Graduated from Sherborne School in Dorset, where he studied acting
He received the Gerald Pitman Award for Acting from the school for performing various roles in theatrical productions during his school years. Later he graduated from the School of the Bristol Old Vic Theater (Bristol Old Vic Theater School) .
He currently lives in London with his brother.
