Graduated from the art faculty of VGIK (1960, workshop of G. Myasnikov and M. Kurilko).
He made his film debut as a production designer in 1964 ("Welcome, or No Unauthorized Entry"). The author of the scenery for the TSATRA play "Harold and Maud" by K. Higgins and J.C. Carriere, the Taganka Theater ("Eugene Onegin", 2000), etc.
He is the Chief Artist of the Film Actor Theater.
President of the Guild of Russian Film and Television Artists.
