Graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute in 1960. In 1962 he came to the Mosfilm film studio, where he initially worked as an artist-architect, taking part in the design of scenery for more than a hundred films. Since 1973, production designer: the first three pictures - at the Riga studio, since 1976 - again at Mosfilm.
