"Drevo", folklore hert - an ensemble of researchers and performers of Ukrainian folk music.
Existed since 1979 (under the name "Tree" - since 1988). Head - ethnomusicologist E. Efremov. By his activities, the folk herd Drevo opened a new direction in the musical culture of Ukraine, demonstrating to the world the traditional rural music of Ukrainians as a full-fledged and original artistic phenomenon that does not require compulsory composer processing. The members of the group - students, graduates and teachers of the Kiev Conservatory - were the first in Ukraine to set the goal of deeply learning, practically assimilating and truly recreating folk songs, preserving the regional stylistic features of the studied traditions in their singing.
