Born in Leningrad on November 10, 1951.
Theater director, actor.
In 1973 he graduated from the Higher Theater School. B.V.Shchukin. He played at the Leningrad Academic Comedy Theater, at the Moscow Regional Drama Theater, at the Moscow Theater. Vladimir Mayakovsky.
At the same time he took part in K. Raikin's concerts as an author and performer of his own songs. In 1986 he entered the correspondence directing department of GITIS (course of A. Efros). The explication of Chekhov's play "The Cherry Orchard" formed the basis of the first performance staged by the director at the Anton Chekhov Theater, which he created in 1989.
The Anton Chekhov Theater was the first theater of a private enterprise in Russia after the 1919 decree on the nationalization of theaters. For the first time, a precedent was created for organizing a theater on the principles of market relations, with extra-budgetary money. All these years the theater has worked and works without attracting government subsidies. Trushkin is one of the leaders and ideologists of theatrical reform. New organizational principles of the theater, a special management style, as well as talented artistic solutions of the staged performances attracted leading artists of Russia to the theater - E. Evstignev, T. Vasilyeva, O. Basilashvili, G. Khazanov, L. Gurchenko, K. Raikin, O. Volkov, A. Shirvindt and many others.
