Born in Whitefish, Montana. She was educated at the Juilliard School and then made her stage debut.
Towers has achieved her greatest success through her performances in Broadway musicals. On the big screen, she made her debut in 1955 in the film "Do not part with a smile", and in 1959 played the main female role in the western "Cavalry". Over the next few years, she starred in a number of films. On television, she has appeared on the series Making Woman, The Prince of Beverly Hills and Frazier. In recent years, she is best known for her role as Helena Cassandin in the soap opera General Hospital .
Constance Towers has been married twice and has two children from her first marriage. Since 1974 she has been married to actor John Gavin.
