After school, the young man entered Rutgers University in New Jersey, and only after graduating, he decided to turn to the acting profession.
Cyrus began acting in 1960, but only came to major success in 1968, after playing one of the main roles in the science fiction film 2001: A Space Odyssey directed by Stanley Kubrick, based on the stories of British science fiction writer Arthur Clarke. The film is considered a cinematic classic.
In the 2000s, Dullea starred in many popular TV series, including the detective series Castle. In 2018, the movie "Fahrenheit 451" was released.
