Born February 18, 1947, Albacete - Spanish director, screenwriter and producer.
He studied law in Madrid, but dropped out after three years and worked as a radio technician. In 1969 he went to work for Spanish television and filmed documentaries for the news service. In 1985-1987 he worked as an assistant at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Salamanca. Has directed several short films. The first full-length film was released in 1982. Cuerda has repeatedly produced films by Alejandro Amenabar.
