May 25, 1903 - July 27, 1998 - English actress.
Born in Islington, London. Her father was Jewish and her mother Italian. Prior to her film debut, Bunny sang in a female choir, worked as a nurse, dancer and took part in vaudeville. Her acting career began in 1923 and continued until her last role in 1973 in the film 40 Carats. The most famous with her participation was the 1933 film "The Private Lives of Henry VIII", where she played Catherine Howard, and the main role in the film was played by Charles Lawton. After the success in this film, Bunny moved to the United States, where she continued her film career, but only in minor roles. Binnie has been married twice. From 1931 to 1937 she was married to Samuel Joseph, whose marriage ended in divorce. In 1940, she married producer Mike Frankovich, converted to Catholicism, and became a US citizen. She gave birth to three children from Mike. After the war, Binnie lived with her family for some time in Italy, where she starred in two Italian films. Binnie Barnes died of natural causes in 1998 at her Beverly Hills home at the age of 95.
For her contribution to the film industry, Binnie Barnes was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
