Born January 26, 1923 - American actress and singer.
Since childhood, she was fond of classical music, but in the end she preferred a modeling agency to the conservatory. In the future, her career still began to develop along a musical path, after Anne Jeffries was given a role in one of the musical revues. Taking part in this production paved the way for her on the big screen, and in 1942 she made her debut in the musical I Married an Angel starring Janet McDonald.
In the 1940s, she worked under contract for RKO and Republic Studios, where she starred in supporting roles in a dozen films, including two screen adaptations of the Dick Trayes comics, where she played the role of Tess Truhart.
By the end of the 1940s, Anne Jeffries' film career began to decline, and the actress focused on work in the theater and television. She had roles in successful Broadway productions such as Street Scene (1947), Kiss Me, Kat (1948) and Three Wishes for Jamie (1952) .
On television, the actress has appeared in Murder, She Wrote, Central Hospital, Los Angeles Law and Rescuers Malibu, and in 1972 she was nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in the television movie Delphic Bureau. In 1979, Jeffries appeared in one of the episodes of the series "Battlestar Galactica", where she played the beloved character of Fred Astaire, while becoming the last actress to dance with the famous actor on the screen. For her contributions to television, the actress was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Ann Jeffiers has been married twice. Her first marriage was unsuccessful and was annulled in 1949. In 1951, actor Robert Sterling, who had previously been married to Anne Sauternes, became her second husband and father of three sons. Their marriage lasted 55 years until Sterling's death in 2006.
