She was born in the Texas city of Denton. When she was in college, her older sister sent a photo of her to Paramount Pictures. There she liked the producers and soon she was invited to Hollywood. For the sake of a career, Sheridan even dropped out of college and at the age of 19 she made her film debut. In 1936, after two years of bit parts for Paramount Pictures, she left the studio and signed to Warner Bros. and at the same time changed her name to Anne Sheridan.
Her career began to develop rapidly, and in subsequent years, Anne starred in films such as Angels with Dirty Faces (1938), Dodge City (1939), The Man Who Came to Dinner (1942), The Edge darkness "(1943) and" Silver River "(1948).
But despite many successes in cinema, her career began to gradually fade, and her last major role was Catherine Gates in the film "Soldier in a Skirt" (1949). She did very little in the 1950s, and her last work was on television, where she appeared in the series Underworld and Pistols and Skirts. Anne married four times, one of her spouses was the actor George Brent (1942-1943), but she had no children. She died of liver cancer on January 21, 1967 in Los Angeles at the age of 51. Ann Sheridan has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 7024 Hollywood Boulevard.
