Anne Cosigny made her theater debut at the age of nine in Jean-Louis Barrot's play “Page Genevieve”, and at the age of 18 she joined the Parisian troupe “Comedie Francaise”, where she worked for about three years.
In 1985, Anne Cosigny made her film debut with a role in Manuel de Oliveira's The Satin Slipper, a Portuguese adaptation of Paul Claudel's play. After that, the actress starred in several television projects, after which she did not appear on the screen for 20 years. Anne Cosigny returned to cinema only in the early 2000s.
In 2002, Cosigny starred in the film Love Is Evil, directed by Isabelle Nante. The real recognition came to the actress after participating in the film "Embankment Orfevre, 36", where her partners were Gerard Depardieu and Auteuil. Since then, Anne Cosigny's career has taken off. In 2005, Stephane Brize's tape "I'm Not Here to Be Loved" was released with Patrick Chenet, for which she was nominated for the Cesar Film Award as Best Actress. In 2007, Julian Schnabel's “Spacesuit and Butterfly” film, starring the actress and her partner on the set, Mathieu Amalric, was released worldwide. The following year, Cosigny again co-starred with Amalric in A Christmas Tale, directed by Arnaud Deplechin, and was nominated for Cesar for Best Supporting Actress.
