1903, Kingston upon Hull - 1990, Honolulu - British American film actress. When she was eleven years old, her parents separated, and the girl stayed with her father. After graduating from high school, Dorothy, still in her teens, left for London to become an actress. She spent some time in Paris, and soon met the choreographer of the Broadway production of Siegfeld's Folly, who convinced her to move to New York and become an actress in these productions. In 1920-21, Dorothy played in the Revue of the Century and Siegfeld's Midnight Pranks .
In 1920, she first appeared on the screen in the film "Face in the Window" .
In 1924 she became one of the "young" stars "with a great future" - WAMPAS Baby Stars.
With the advent of the talkie era, the popularity of Dorothy McAle began to gradually decrease, she appeared less and less often and not always in the main roles. In 1937, the actress left the cinema, devoting herself to caring for a sick mother. Dorothy briefly returned to the screens: in 1953, 1976 and 1980, she played small roles in individual episodes of television series. Dorothy McAle passed away on August 12, 1990 from kidney failure in Honolulu, USA.
Dorothy McAle has been married three times.
