American film actress who began acting at the age of one and a half years. Daughter of cinematographer Charles Roscher. She first appeared on the screens, not without the help of her father, at the age of one and a half years in the film Hearts Aflame, played children in different films up to the age of seven (under the pseudonym Dorothy Rosher), then there was a break in her career, and again the viewer saw Marsh only in 1930 year, after it was "discovered" by the famous director Frank Borzeigi. He also insisted on a new screen name: Joan Marsh.
In 1931 she was included in the list of young actresses who were predicted a "stellar" future - WAMPAS Baby Stars.
In 1937, while filming Charlie Chan on Broadway, she met screenwriter Charles Belden. They soon got married, but in 1943 a divorce followed, and at the end of the same year John Morrill became her chosen one, from this marriage two sons, Langdon and Jonathan Morrill, were born. The next year, the last film with the actress was released. After completing her film career, Marsh acquired a stationery store in Hollywood. Died August 10, 2000 in Ojai, Ventura County, California, USA. Joan Marsh was a very petite woman: she weighed 43 kilograms and wore size 2AAA shoes - the smallest available in wardrobe.
